Why Face-to-Face Matters: Unlocking Real Connections at FRIGAIR EXPO
This article has been supplied.
In an increasingly digital world, FRIGAIR Expo stands out as a powerful platform for real connection—offering experiences that screens simply can’t deliver. It gives visitors a chance to see the latest innovations up close, explore cutting-edge technology trends, watch live demonstrations, and speak directly with the experts behind the solutions.
These authentic, face-to-face interactions build trust, spark collaboration, and create lasting business opportunities. For anyone looking to stay competitive, informed, and inspired, FRIGAIR Expo is the place to be.
FRIGAIR Expo is back and bigger than ever. Taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 4 to 6 June 2025, FRIGAIR is Africa’s leading exhibition for heating, energy, refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning (HERVAC).
“Over three action packed days, FRIGAIR Expo brings everything under one roof — helping visitors compare options side by side, ask the right questions, and make more confident buying decisions. It’s a smart, efficient way to fast-track sourcing, uncover cost-saving solutions, and stay ahead of industry shifts — all while building valuable relationships that extend well beyond the show floor,” says Charlene Hefer, Portfolio Director at Specialised Exhibitions – a division of Montgomery Group, and organisers of FRIGAIR in partnership with IMD Conferences, Exhibitions and Workshops, and with owners of the event, SAIRAC – the South African Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. “There will be over 150 leading brands under one roof, live product demos and tech showcases, SAIRAC workshops featuring local and international speakers, and, for the first time, a Skills Development Hub.” There will be a number of international exhibitors at FRIGAIR displaying state-of-the-art European and Asian technology for the local market.
Visitors to the show will be able to see new refrigeration solutions using eco-friendly gas refrigerants; optimal air quality and energy efficiency units for air quality control and fully functional plug-and-play cold room systems. Industry professionals and stakeholders will have the opportunity to explore a range of cold room innovations designed for optimal insulation and energy savings, compact rooftop units to large-scale chillers, cutting-edge air dispersion systems for open and in-ceiling applications and ducting solutions designed for residential and commercial applications. Exhibitors will also display diverse data centre solutions for high-performance cooling, refrigerated warehouses and storage facilities, cold room optimisation tools and connectivity innovations that offer improved performance monitoring and control, as well as high-density, energy-efficient storage solutions for cold chain environments.
SAIRAC Free-to-attend Workshop Program
In addition to the exhibition, visitors can take advantage of an extensive schedule of workshops hosted by SAIRAC and led by respected thought leaders from South Africa and abroad. The free-to-attend workshop content is packed with engaging insights and practical takeaways, tailored to address the priorities, pressures and interests of attendees – including guidance on how to optimise CO2 Systems for Enhanced efficiency, cooling as a service, environmentally friendly refrigerants and data centre design for optimal efficiency. Learn from top HERVAC minds with workshops covering topics like refrigerant regulations, energy-efficient systems, green building integration, and evolving compliance standards. Running across the three days of the event, the workshops add depth and context to the innovations showcased on the floor.
FRIGAIR Skills Development Hub
Visitors to this year’s event will also get to experience the all new FRIGAIR Skills Development Hub taking place in Hall 5, where six rising stars in the industry will compete in 5 hands-on challenges that test practical industry skills and training. The six participants from four collages around the country will compete in challenges related to electrical, hand tools, refrigeration tubing, installation and commissioning of HERVAC systems, with prizes to be won. The competition runs across all the three exhibition days and finishes with prizegiving on Friday 6 June.

“The chance to engage directly with industry experts and fellow professionals from across the sector is one of the expo’s most valuable aspects,” says Hefer. “Visitors can see practical, real-world applications of cutting-edge solutions in action — giving them insight into how these innovations can be applied to improve performance and drive future growth. Support from top industry bodies reinforces the expo’s standing as a must-attend event — drawing high-level decision-makers from across the sector."
